I know this has been hounded to death BUT the search on the forum is not very helpful. Im looking at a set of 20" staggered wheels and havent looked into this much lately so I forgot what the right width/offset was right for our 5 series. The setup is 20x8.5 20 Offset with 245/35/20 and 20x9.5 25 Offset with 275/30/20. Would this setup work nicely on our 5 series? Again hate to ask, but I appreciate any info...

don't think you will encounter any problem with these offsets, you might want to get some spacers to make it a little more flush with the fenders though.

post pics when done.

I have this setup on my e60 and I have no issues. Its an msport, but the lower ride height still hasn't even caused any problems with rubbing. (I will be lowering it very soon so I can let you know how it goes)

what is the ideal offset anyway? I have the same tire size/rim size, but with 18mm offset and I'm getting some rubbing on bumps or with passengers.

So Im getting close to pulling the trigger on this setup..would 285/30/20s work in the rear as well? specially with the higher offset? or would that hurt and make them rub on the inside?

you should be ok, i'm running 255/35/20 with 5mm spacers fronts and 285/30/20 no spacer rears..
rolled and shaved fenders on all 4 corners and sitting on kw v2 coils...
with 285/30/20 rears you will need to roll your fenders...are you sitting on any coils or stock suspension??
thanks good luck

285/30 on rears with rolled fenders will be perfect

so kind of wanting some more confirmation now, but on the tire side of things. Pulled the trigger on the wheels. 20x8.5 ET 20 up front and 20x9.5 ET 25 in the rear. Now I found a GREAT deal on some tires but not sure if I can pull them off. Would the wheels I have above with that width/offset be able to run 255/35/20 up front and 285/30/20 out rear (I have some feedback on the rear above) but kinda look for the all around setup, think it would work no rubbing on H&R Sports???

rear should be fine but front will rub though unless you push it out a bit, I think 10mm spacer will do the job but with H&R, you will need to roll your fender.

I'm sure some will chime in but most usually run 245 up front.
