Cool

I have just purchased a 2009 535I Sports package and I have installed lowering springs on it. I have also jsut purcahse a set of 20x9 and 20x10 staggered wheels. What size of tires should I put on rear? I plan to get 295/25/20. Does anyone know if that will fit nicely???

295/25/20 will rub, go with 285/25/20 in conjunction with the proper offset of the wheels.

curious, what lowering springs did you use to lower her?

You can try to put in 285/25, but preferably 275/25. vince.

I have 295/25/20 on my rears no rubbing. I'm running Toyo T1Rs. If you check on tirerack.com they recommend it as one of the sizes. Keep in mind though your sidewall will be 2.9".

Also how low are you? You might be cutting it close and want to go for 285/30/20 just to be on the safe side.

Here are sidewall calculations:

295/25/20 - 2.9"
285/30/20 - 3.37"
275/30/20 - 3.25"

I have Falken 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear. Thinking hard about trying 30 series in front and 25 in back.

I used HR Sports springs.
I currently have 275/30/20 for rear, and 245/35/20 for front. It drives ok but have hard time getting into driveways without rubbing. Actually my fender is starting to get out of shape. I think I might need to raise the car or change tires. If I change tires, I want to be able to have a aggressive look and my rear is offset +22 (factory offset is +20). Does anyone know it will rub with 295??

Curious - you mention your current tires are rubbing and deforming your fender, and you want to go WIDER? Huh? Did I miss something?

Hi good luck with the decision. I have 545i non sport and put 275/35/20 rear and 245/35/20 front on Nitto NT555's
If I were to do it again I would go 19's. The ride is really harsh on anything but glass smooth pavement. On LA Fwy's when you hit expansion joints you really feel it and my car is not even lowered!! Being so little rubber between you and the road every little pot hole puts scratches and dings on your wheels. My wheels look like sh t and only a 3 years old. They are Miro Hartge Classic II replicas. Also, if you goto to 9" in front you most probably will have rubbing issues. My front tires are 8.5" in front and they rub slightly on slow/sharp cornering. I just replaced the rears at 20,000 miles and would have gotten easily another 8 to 10K if the BMW camber was not so negative. I wish I got 35's in rear instead of 30's again. Going to 25's ?? wouldn't do it! The insides of tires were bald and the mid to outer was still very good. So suggest aftermarket camber plates to dial out the negative camber in rear unless you really feel you need that extra slight advantage cornering a 4K LB 4 door around. I rather save my tires and save money. Turner has camber adjsutment for E60's on website and I think that will be my next purchase as $8K or so for the VF Engineering Supercharger is a little steep now my car has depreciated to under $20,000 or so?? The rear Nittos ran bout $325 each with install. They get decent milage, are very quiet and smooth, only minor tramlining on grooved freeways at 70 to 90 mph range, and lose a little on center tracking when miles put on, car wanders and a little effort to keep car going straight at fwy speed. I have only broken them loose a few times when I purposely went crazy around a corner. If I was goind to track the car, well may pay the extra dough. So for me they have plenty of grip. Compared to other tires such as Michelins and Toyos T1r's, better grip and more expensive, I'd say a good deal. I have had Toyos on my Audi A4 and until then were the best tire I ever bought. I highly recommend the Nitto's -- goofey name but great tire for the money!
