A couple of years ago when I had my M aero kit, and 20% of Privacy Tint installed on my 530i by Nalley BMW in Atlanta. I noticed it looked sharp, but I also noticed that my AM/FM radio reception was now lousy!!
I took it in for service and the radio reception being bad, and the BMW Tech told me it was due to the window tint! (I thought to myself that is a line of BS!!). But I found he was right and I was wrong, because it appears he told the truth!! See my front window got hit by a rock and had to be replaced, (this time I did not put Privacy tint on the windshield), and my AM/FM reception is working great once again.
I just wrote this in case one of you e60 forum members already have, or thinking about privacy tinting your windshield glass, and I might can save you some $$$$ from making the mis take I made and you can you see what I ran into by tinting my front BMW e60 windshield.
Sincerely,
R. Eddie Presley

The "metallic" film will block AM signals. If you want to use AM then you must use a "ceramic? film.
I have 35% metallic film and the AM radio does not get any signal, but FM works great. I choose metallic because I wanted a more reflective finish. The ceramic does not have that ?mirror? look in direct sunlight.

Llumar Axcess is a metallic film that does not block electronic signals. It looks good and works well.
it is fairly new on the market and reasonably priced.
