I'm seriously considering (and able to see what it might look like, thanks to my amateur Photoshop skills, above) changing my pedestrian "525i" rear badge to "555i." Why? a) I'm weird, and generally like to freak people out whenever possible; b) Fellow 5-er owners will know at-a-glance there's no such beast, and will shake their heads at me with pity/sympathy; c); I'll be able to lip-read at redlights via my rearview the driver behind me asking himself, "What the heck is a BMW Ssssssss-i?"
Flame suit on.

Whatever makes you happy, Lee. At least I know it's you when I run across you around Long Beach/Signal Hill.

I DID IT! (Photoshop mock-up from original post be gone!) Today I visited the local BMW dealer, bought a 525i badge set, used dental floss to remove my "2," rubbed the area with Goof-Off to remove residue, masked the area to ensure alignment, peeled off one of the "5"s from new badge set, applied it carefully, and...Voil?! Hey, some guys add 20" rims, body kits, etc., to make their E60 look unique. Me? I replace a digit.
