Hello people.

I have this problem, i will buy a 535d touring, and Bmw in Switzerland don't homologate the 19" whells, like the 172M or the 101M , that's my 2 favorites ones.
Do you know why? it's like that in your countries?
Thanks for your answers...

In the US you can do what ever you want. TUV in Germany requires approval (papers) for every single part that gets bolted to your car. Don't know about Switzerland either

It has to do with the wider rear tires. The 275 width tires are not approved by BMW for the E61. For the E60 it is no problem.

MHoutman (another member) has a 545 and he has looked into it asswell..

Your should be able to get 19 inch wheels without wider tires. Just order 8.5 width wheels for the back too and fit 245's all the way around.

Same as in Czech, They say 19 are only for sedan, but I have 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 and no problem, there is a space on rear for 275 tyres.

that's my opinion, i know people who also have 19" in their cars, and have no problem. i don?t understand the real reason of the decision of BMW!!

The reason is = there is a not an enough space for the wither tire. I don?t know how much space there should by for 275 tires. Definitely there is a less space then in sedan, but the 275 tires fits there, you can have a look on Hamann or Hartge the put 295 on touring.
