I keep going back and forth on getting these rims, but what scares me is how some people talk about how fragile they are the last thing i wanna do is be constantly fixing cracks and bends and flats..... So those who live in ny know how the streets are like here, if you have them and hate it or love it please tell me about it and help me decide.

No problems with my 166's so far.

It all depends on the road. I've bent (2) stock 18" 124's on a pothole at the same time on my 545i.

dude, im rocking 166s in DETROIT....hands down the worst roads in all of America given that we dont have the budget to fix them in addition to the bad winter seasons its a recipe for disaster.

with that said....no issues so far. i dont know why people talk so much junk about style 166s and cracking....i havent had to deal w/ it myself...

with that said (cough) ive got a set for sale in about a week lol

According the Vlad(V_theRussian) most M series wheels will hold up on these streets. I have mine, just trying to save up for the tires I need. may need to refinish them too...also can't decide on whether to powdercoat them or leave the the way they are lol.

My VMRs and LM-R's have been destroyed by NYC. Gone through about 5 bends in 2 years.

Oh no I've been to Detroit you can't even even dodge one pothole without another one being right there. They are the worst streets I have ever seen anywhere. If i lived there I would be rolling my 17's all year long lol.
