That's all I can do is laugh, because I sure could not afford the gas that an M5 takes, I read they get 10 mpg and 200 miles per tank,

I heard BMW did go to the 3.0 with 215 hp from the 2.5 & 195 hp, (which I thought the old 525i was some slower than the 530i when I test drove one, but your new 525 has the 3.0, and should be as quick as a 530i? In conclusion: You have a fine ride and just think of all the money you save in fuel compared to the almighty M5, but them guys can afford it, I sure can't!

Regardless, From what I have read its not a big difference. I mean if your talking acceleration the 530i does 0-60 in 6.3 seconds... the 525i does it in 7.3 seconds Both with Manaul transmission according to BMWNA website. There is only 1 second difference.

The engines here in Europe are the same as in the US, only a couple of hp difference. It would be too much work to produce new engines for different continents. Here in Europe we only have more engines.
And the old 525 produces 192hp in Europe and 184hp in US if i m not mistaken, this is a 2.5 liter engine.
The new 525 produces 218 hp in Europe and 215 in the US, this is still a 2.5 liter engine.
The old 530 produces 231 hp in Europe and about 225 hp in the US, this is a 3 liter engine.
The new 530 produces 258 hp in Europe and 255 hp in the US, also this is a 3 liter engine.
So a new 3 liter engine with 215 hp i really dont believe in. Show me more besides the bmwusa.com spec sheet.

Thrust me Georgos, the US 525i has a 3.0 litre engine.
BMW has for ages made different engines for the US market.
I.e. the new E92 will also be sold as a 328i, but in Europe we will
not see this engine.
In US you can't either buy a 523i or any diesel models nor the 1-series.

I think I read that the reason for using the tuned down 3.0 liter as a 525 is that the quality of the gasoline in the US is such that the 2.5 liter creating 218 HP would have issues with that, hence the tuned down 3 liter.
