Your thoughts on roof spoiler

I was blessed to get my "Brown Mamba" as a hand me down from the in-laws. That is a big reason why the car is brown (amethyst grey) rather than silver, black or pearl white.

I have been doing little things to make the car look less brown and a little more youthful/sinister as apposed to brown sedan coming through.

Have Done
  • Black numbering
  • Black and white carbon fiber logos on hood trunk, wheels
  • Black kidney grills
  • M lip trunk spoiler
  • Smoke side markers
  • Red ram scoop
To Do
  • Anthracite Plastidipped rims this week hopefully
  • Plastidip the chrome on windows this week
  • Angel eye upgrade bulbs on backorder
So I was wondering if you all thought if the car didn't have a M body kit, larger rims, or anything like that if I got the roof spoiler if it looked like I was "Trying too hard," or looked too "22 year old with a Honda Civic."

Goal is too look clean, modern, a little different, but not front like I have an M5.
Thoughts?

If you all have it what does the point of adhesion look like from inside the car?

Hmm, actually that's not necessarily a bad thing - I think it's (one of) the rarest e60 colors. Rock it man, don't try to hide it or pretend it's one of the more common colors.

Honestly black and brown isn't my favorite color combo. And I don't think the grey rims and brown will look good either.

I appreciate what you're trying to do but I think you're probably best off working WITH the brown, instead of against it. You gotta work with what you got. Nothing you do is going to make people NOT see the brown of the car.

Meaning, find a color palette (maybe not black and grey like every other black/white/red BMW) for emblem highlights, rims, etc. that complements the car. i.e. the "German Flag" colors below would probably look awesome on your car.

Also, check out this guy - fellow amethyst grey owner:

https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...ech-kit-63411/

He kept the chrome lettering, has black window trim/grilles, and silver rims - nothing too crazy - and it really looks classy but still aggressive.

Yes he did the Mtech bumper you're leaning away from, but it looks great on the car.

It's possible that maroon used sparingly on some strategic emblems/highlights could look good as well.

not a fan of the roof spoilers - somehow it looks like someone is trying to act hard and turning their baseball cap backwards

Wow, that dudes cars looks a lot like mine except I don't have the baller kit or rims

Black and brown are not going anywhere. Especially since the interior is that bright Dakota brown and black interior.

So roof spoiler yay it nay?

The roof spoiler is very subtle. I wasn't sure from pictures whether I'd like it or not, but I ordered it as a pair when I got the ACS style rear spoiler. I've since become quite fond of the look, as it cleans up and softens the rear lines and doesn't cut into your viewing area at all!

I vote No on the roof spoiler - makes the car look dated IMO.

Funny thing is I had doubts about it. But I found mine, painted for 68$ and I think it looks good. Just my 2 cents Attachment 156217

I have the actual ACS roof spoiler on mine. I like it. It's pretty subtle.
Here's my thread here.
