After an extensive test driving of cars , i've come to conclusion that the 5 series may be the best choice for me.
please provide your opinons.
E500 - as a owner of the previous e, i was sorely disappointed. it felt like what the c should be in terms of interior size and driving performance. Very disappointing drive.
cayenne -- this is my number 1 pick but with the amount of my daily commute and gas prices, it didnt' make financial sense to get this car. although they are well within 30s.
3-series-- people kept telling me this car handles well. Maybe the demo i had wasn't so great, but I didnt' see what was so great about it. Yeah it definetly has a great style and look to it ..but I wasn't so thrill with the drive of it. WHen I got out , I didn't feel a thing hehe.
(old body) 3-series - made my heart beat fast and it was a thrill but I just couldn't buy it knowing there is already a redesigned one out and this looks so old already.
(old body) 7 series - dad wants to buy this one already.
G35 - waiting to test drive it. First time driving an infinite I hope it has some 'heft' weight to it .
5-series - Now I really liked this for these reasons:
* It was alot more sturdy, tank-like , matured driving experience in similar light to my 300E benz. My style of driving. Putting it into curves, The car remained completly flat , which is what i like just like my Benz. but this was 1 step more better in that it was a bit more smoother in its corners. ALthough it doesn't offer the sporty thrill ride of a 3 series..or the cayenne, its still a fun car but PLUS it offers more fuel efficiency and a better price point / resale value depreciation.
I still want to test drive these cars before I pull the trigger: old body G35, the current 7 series, new X5. I am undecided to go for the 525/530/545 though
Any suggestions , comments ?
THANKS.

What 5 series are you considering? 8 cylinder? 6 cylinder? Sport package? All wheel drive? These answers might help people give you the input you're looking for.
Although I expect that you'll get plenty more biased information here, let me start things off...

How a car will handle is determined largely by suspension and tires.
A new 3er Series outhandles the E46 3er Series but you have to compare apples to apples. If you tested a base 325i without sport tires, then it probably wasn't that exciting.
In general, a well equipped 3er Series will outhandle a 5er but these are two different cars. The 3er is smaller and more tossable. The 5er feels more solid.

the 5 is the inbetween of the 3 and the 7. from your post im guessing you want something a bit luxury and a bit sporty that youll take into the twisties. the 5 is perfect, but your choices range not only within 525/530/545. it includes the 528, 535, 550 also, depending on the details of what youre after. good luck.
