My Ride: e39 525i Touring, will order e61 as soon as I can decide on engine and options...

I think that the e60 looks better than the e63, the horisontal trim flow is more consistent than the wood-blob in the center area and the e63 glove box reminds me of Volvo V70...

One thing BMW could improve on the e60 is the trim on the doors, I prefer the continued trim flow of the e39 instead of just trimming the door handles on the e60.

Apart from that the e60 is great, simple and not-in-your-face.

i think that the e63 looks m uch cheaper than the e60.there is no wood trim at all at the left hand side of the steering collumn.

thats what i am talking about. This plastic should be wood instead

Anyway
I dont have so much experience with the e60 interior but in the cars i test drove and the ones in the showroom there wasnt something that bothered me.Also agree that a trim that continues on the doors would have been better than just trimming the handles

> I don't mind the knobs for the AC and there being no digital screen. Again, it may be over simplified, but it's still a clean, uncluttered look.

> I don't mind the sport seats at all, but I agree the head rest is very uncomfortable. Infact, the head rest almost seems useless. I still havn't figured out a way to postion the chair/headrest to make it actually support my head at all, but then again I like having the seat angled way back.

> The one issue I have with the interior is the radio/CD player. I like minimalist appearance, and yes, I usually control the radio thru iDrive or the steering wheel, but it still looks unnecessarily cheap to me, especially the little volume knob.

Anyways, those are my thoughts. My 545i is still the nicest car i've driven, and I can't wait to get my quad exhaust!
I think since there's an iDrive screen, wouldn't it be too much to add more display to the A/C unit? Just a thought as I am very please with the current set up.

I think you are not suppose to rest your head against the headrest when driving, that's what I learn when I went to those BMW driving course. I guess you couldn't argue with them right?

I like the new knob on the E60 over the huge one in the E39, kinda clumpsy with the big knob.

quad exhaust, now that should be standard since new MB E class get twin exhaust pipes on both side.
