hey guys. i will be buying a set of 19x8.5 F and 19x9.5 for my 06' 525XI tomorrow. what is the correct tire size i should be running for an XI? i played with the number on 1010tires and if i ran a 245/35/19 up front i would need to run a 285/30/19 in the rear which is crazy i think and not recommended for a 9.5 width wheel according to the site. so, should i just run 245/35/19 tires all around?

thanks,
Jason

Typically, most people run 245's in the front, and 275's in the rear for that setup.

Out of curiosity, which wheels are you getting? I'm in the market myself, so I'm always keen to know what wheels others are getting. I assume you've done your research and have the correct offsets for the xi?

Just make sure the offsets are correct or you'll be really screwed.

Here is my old, highly modified, 2007 530xi Sport. I ran the following:

19x8.5 -- ET40 -- 245/35/19

19x9.5 -- ET45 -- 275/30/19

Here are a few pix... My car was also lowered with SPECIAL xi springs and I ran spacers to make the wheels flush with the wells. (There are more pix of my old E60 in My Gallery, towards the back)

yeah i did my research on the offset. thanks for the warning though!!!!! i'm actually getting the same looking wheels as you have in your pictures "C". they are CSL VB3's with the same size and offset (40 & 45) that you listed in the previous post here. thanks for everything....i'll go ahead with the purchase tomorrow. and start saving for the tires. i am also putting in H&R's springs for XI but not until after the winter. these rims won't be going on until then anyways.

245/35/19 overall diameter is 25.75 inches (.39 % different from stock)
275/30/19 overall diameter is 25.49 inches (1.4% different from stock)

i guess my next question would be - i assume (since you already ran this set-up) that everything functioned normally like cruise, abs, and no problems with the transfer case? because i know you can't differ too much between front and rear overall diamters too much on all wheel drive cars.

thanks,
Jason

Everthing was great with the car. I even had an ECU Remap, Sprint Booster, AFE CAI and Exhaust on the car. Still no problems. Car was great.

C's the XI expert!!

Sounds nice.

Don't forget pics when you get all this installed. I'm still debating between the Xi springs, and the KW's. The problem with the KW's is $$$. No doubt they're worth the cash, but I don't need the adjustability of the V3's.

I'm buying all my stuff now in preparation for the spring as well.

Good luck with the purchase. Can't wait to see the car.

i though about the KW V3's as well and i just installed a set on my friends new 335xi coupe. the ride is awesome but insane pricing like you said. and with only 52k on my stock shocks i will probably just end up buying H&R XI sport springs for the couple hundred that they would cost since i do the labor myself to install them.
