Default Xi front level sensor

Not sure if from snow/ice build up or what but the arm for my headlight leveling sensor(right ride) broke.

Looked up on real oem and it snows "37146784697" which fits a whole bunch of models; So I grabbed one at the parts yard.

When I pulled the one off of my car it was different: "37141093698". Which real oem lists fitting only some Euro spec E38 and E39 models w/ air suspension.

Does anyone know what part number level sensor is on the front of their xi? The "697" level sensor is physically the same other than the thread boss' to mount the bolts are in different location.

Sorry if this isn’t helpful. I’ve not replaced them on my E61 but I did on my E46 and originally it had been a metal rod with metal ball joints. When I got the replacements it had turned into a plastic rod with metal ball joints and I felt it was improved since the old metal on metal pieces had rusted out the ball joint. Is it possible BMW did a similar upgrade for yours? Though it sounds like you say they relocated the threads or something? Do you have pictures?

i have had great luck just SuperGluing the broken bit of the adjustor. there is very little stress on the piece. if it is a clean break and the pieces fit together very well, this will work. it has worked on 3 different vehicles i have tried it on. i had to do this on my current e61 because i forgot to disconnect it when i was swapping out my front struts. that was 3 months ago. i know my brother did this on his e39, 4 years ago.

I had great luck in drilling two tiny holes in the plastic arm and using steel wire to hold it together.. in the mean time I did order one and just a nice direct swap. I bought this a few years ago, but my part number was:

37140141444

Thanks for you response. Interesting though is that part number there is equivalent to the "697" one I tried to replace it with and what Realoem shows to be oem

BUT is different than what came off my car and can only mount with 1 bolt. I have it mounted with 1 bolt and its staying for now; Maybe Ill go through a scrap yard and see if I can find one that works.
