Hi folks,
My last car got fitted with the hid conversion and it was brilliant. My new wheels have xenons and they are cr**.
What are my options?

Thanks

You could just be comparing a xenon lamp in a halogen reflector which was outputting light in a uncontrolled beam pattern and without any lens or filter on it to a xenon lamp being projected on to the road in the correct pattern. Also your aftermarket HIDs were probably a different colour temp compared to the standard 4300 oems use.

+1. You can get a cheap set of 5000-6000k DS2s for $35. DS1s are a bit pricier though.

That is the problem with HIDs in reflector lenses. Its like driving around with semi full beam on. Which is why they dazzle other drivers but give out great light.

Hmm. I thought xenon in projectors always blind other drivers. My 350z, Mom's 7 series, friends 5 series, friends Audi A6.

Cars with xenon in refletor housing lenses:
First generation Lexus IS, Acura TL, Infiniti G35. Two generations old boxy maphia S-class, one generation old E-class. One generation old Audi A8, etc.
These cars don't blind oncoming drivers as much as projector xenons.
I do admit trucks with after market xenons really blind me from behind and oncoming.

I put an HID conversion kit into my '03 Denali. The pattern looks exaclty like the stock halogens, does not appear to scatter the beam. This truck came with projectors from the factory, but I agree, some vehicles with aftermarket kits scatter the beam, blinding oncomming drivers.

There are reflector lenses designed for HID lighting but the reflector shape isnt the same as the halogen version(they are pretty rare and only fitted on cars that came with HID from the factory). If your projector lenses blind people then they arent set up correctly as the cutoff of the beam should be very sharp and below the eye line of oncoming traffic.
