Default Xenon Headlamp Bulbs (D2S)

Hello,

Just got over the phone with my dealer, and the OEM bulbs are redicuously expensive (like 250 a piece). I see a bunch of options online, including philips bulbs for around 50 bucks a piece, and ebay ( AC 2pcs HID Xenon Headlights Lamps Lights Bulbs D2S 5000K 35W | eBay ) for about 10 bucks for two.

Anyone have had experience with ebay bulbs above? What would be your recommendation .

Thanks.

I replaced mine with the 10 bucks ones about 1 year ago and still working.

Thanks for the reply man. I read somewhere that the light they emit is very low (or fads over time). Did you face anything like that?
Or see any difference in your light, when parked with same car with OEM lights?
Thanks.

No fading. Can't compare to OEM as I changed it to 6000K.

I have been looking at these bulbs too but am confused what I really need. I have an 04 545i with xenons. Do I need the DS2 or DS1? Can't seem to find a clear answer. Thanks.

Same thing . I called two dealerships, and one was not sure, other one said its D2S. However, I checked with one online seller, and he said D1S....If you look at websites, they offer both as replacement for same car (ebay, amazon etc).

So, I think i will have to take it out to make sure and then order, or maybe get the cheap ones from ebay and then see (they are cheap enough to take chances ).

I will probably just rip mine out and double check before I order. Need to work on the car anyway this weekend. I will let you know what I find.
