I am going to the dealer tomorrow to order an 05 530. I am planning on getting auto, premium, cold, sat radio, nav.

I am thinking about 3 other options: Xenon, Comfort seats, and Premium Sound.

If you were to pick 2 out of the 3 Which would you get and why?

Thanks

I'm on the same boat. I couldn't imagine a 5 series without Xenons especially since they are Adaptive. From what I have heard though the Comfort seats are a must, especially since they are considered by many to be the best seats in any vehicle. Me personally, I love music, but I don't necessarily need to upgrade since the standard speakers aren't that bad. Plus you could always add a little more sound later. The CD changer can be added as well, but since your getting Sat you might find you don't even need it.

So in order, I would rank it Xenon, Comfort then Speakers. But I would go for the comfort and the xenons together if possible. Make the Ultimate Driving Machine - completely Ultimate.

Horrible to say, I would order all three. I have them and can not imagine the car without them. The Comfort seats are... comfortable. I test drove a car with standard seating and almost chose the sport until I drove a 5.er with he comfort, also the headrest moves forward in case somebody hits you from the rear. Xenon is another step in safety while driving. Then you move to the Premium Sound. If you do a searc you will see guys that wish they had chosen this option and regret it now. I could not make myself order a car without them.

Looks like you are on a budget... I pick:

Xenon (why buy a bimmer if you are not getting xenon??!)
Logic-7 Premium Sound

Comfort seat are very nice.... but if you are on a budget... you've gotta draw the line somewhere. If not... then order ALL the bells & whistles!!

just my $.02... Xenon a must. Comfort Seats worth every dime (It's like sitting in a barcalounger). I've not had problem sitting for 10 or 12 hours in these things.

Don't have logic7 and I am very satified with the standard audio Pkg. but I'll admit I don't have the most sensitive ear.

Good luck, I too had to choose and I don't regret anything except maybe not getting SMG.

Get XENON for darn sure. I'd go with Logic 7 after that. The seats that come with the Premium Pkg. are outstanding 'as is'. Again, these are already upgraded from standard.

I have heard from some folks that the premium seats actually hurt their back and they spend so much time trying to find the right setting. That's been posted on here many times. Although as it's been mentioned earlier in this post, some folks love 'em. I'd get the HUD over the comfort seats even. Just my opinion.

I could not go without any of those 3 options.

Xenon lights are going to become standard on more and more cars over time. Use a car with them, and you'll see why.

The comfort seats are awesome. I espcially like the articulating backrest.

I listen to music in my car constantly, and have always installed aftermarket stereos in my cars. (Last car had an 1800 watt system).
Unfortunately, changing out the stereo in an E60 is not exactly an easy task, and certainly not recommended. So, had to get the premium sound. It's a major disappointment for me, because of what I'm used to in my old cars.... but for a factory system, it is decent. (Although that isn't saying much)

I suppose the seats would be the first thing I could stand to 86.

Xenon should be standard...
Then the premium L7 sound system

One guy in the forum bought the car w/o the Xenon and was having a really hard time trying to figure out if he could retrofit Adaptive Xenon or not. I believe the option is around 800USD (Not sure at the moment) and well worth it.
