The cars produced from 17 January 2005 now use the D1S Xenon lamps

They are list at 129 Euro

But they are supposed to last a long time, if you got one out maybe you can claim on warranty since your car is brand new

I replaced mine with the Philips bulbs. They're so much whiter than the originals. Plenty of work, though. You'll have to remove the front bumper and then the light ass'y in order to get to the bulbs.

Cost of bulbs - USD 245.00

BMW's instructions for European cars say you just need to remove the headlight, nothing about removing the bumper.

Are USA cars different?

The OEM D2S bulbs are either Osram or Philips, you can specify which you want from the parts department

Not shure about the new D1S units

I understand how you feel. I felt the same way too. However, you can rest assured that these bulbs are made to last. They don't blow so easily. I'll sure be glad to hear if someone has a better way of doing so even if I'll be proven to be an idiot.

You don't have to remove the bumper, it's a bitch to get the headlight out, but you just need to remove the 2 screws in the rear bottom and 3 on top and the headlight comes out, I removed both my headlights myself when i upgraded to Xenon headlights.
