In a country with so many 4 wheel drive cars including the entire Subaru range it is amazing that BMW does not sell the 525xi, 530xi and the 530xd particularly this last car. Wales, the Peak District, Scotland & numerous country locations with drivers who like a spirited drive would love this option. Secondly South Africa which is also right hand drive would likely shift a few also.

Supposedly after the German & US markets the UK is BMW largest market yet frequently our market gets the short straw so come on BMW get the wipers right and give us the X version with the revamp.

No x-drive in other RHD markets either. Maybe the RHD models have some steering components where the x-drive bits are supposed to be placed.

Marketing decision.

Few RHD countries get conditions that need X drive, so they figure there is no money to be made producing them in RHD.

Is there any snow in the UK, ever?

But there's not either a facelift 535i in EU - before MY 08 in Sept.

I have yet to drive my car in the snow, so we'll see. I might actually like having the AWD and will enjoy plowing through the snow. OK, I guess I'll keep it.

Scotland gets a regular amount but surely 4-wheel drive is for more than just snow?

I had a Quattro once I found it incredibly reassuring and secure in wet conditions... and we get a lot of rain in this part of the world!
I think there is a considerable market for x-drive in countries without heavy snowfall.
If available, I would buy one...

Relatively little for Finnish or Alpine standards, but since there's no snow ploughs either...
