Salut, Bob P.
WRG's are great tires but they are more of an All Season tire. I'm looking to run a much more aggressive winter only set-up as I've got my stock 255/40zr18's with Michelin PSS' tires when I need performance.
I've got the sport package so my only concern with fitment is whether or not they will fit over the larger sport brakes.

Stock set-up is 255/40zr18's in the rear and 225/35zr18's up front. If I didn't have the staggered set-up I would have just opted for the A/S tires but staggered isn't good for snow - especially with 255's in the back.
I know wheel width doesn't matter but I hate the look of stretched tires so that's not an option for me.

Actually, in this case, -1 size would be a 215/45R-17. You also have to be aware of load ratings. A 205/50R-17 might actually be too small.

205/50-17 is the correct -1 size if you wish to keep the same rolling radius, which is what +1 or -1 means, not just one size wider or narrower.

Also, the load rating for a proper -1 will be practically the same (maybe 3% lower), since the volume of air in the tire is practically the same, only the shape of the tire changes.

With respect.
