Gotta love that stick
I think the DRLs are the best feature...along with the covered fog lights (easier to wash). Great car you lucky dog!

You're at the first stages of an interesting driving phenomenon: the more time you spend with the car, the more you'll feel that what used to extraordinary is really just common behavior for the E60. Controls fall to your hand logically, steering is precise, quick and accurate. Take a basic driving course with your local Chapter of BMWCCA, and you'll really learn to appreciate what you've got!

I do feel like the "luckiest dog" on the block right now ...and you make a great point. Wednesday night and yesterday were really about sorting out how to drive the car and some of the basic features. Today I went for a ride with the tunes off just driving and shifting the the tt's with the manual tranny, listening to the engine and exhaust note, seeing where it felt "intuitive" to shift...testing where the tt "sweet spot" is, etc. This is my first BMW and it is simply amazing how well thought out everything is and how all the small touches add up to a very pleasurable driving experience. I was a bit worried about ordering the manual tranny on a car of this nature...but don't regret it a bit...just too sweet driving listening to the engine rev and feeling the shifting dynamic. Another well thought-out touch is the turn signal system - once I got used to the sequence - just feels right...so easy to apply just the lane signal vs the turn signal..more to come for sure!!

Buy yourself some black mats. I had mine from new at zero cost as I knew the cream mats just wouldn't last.

Here's a pic showing the mats and the 8 memory buttons - just under the slot for the CD player.

Regards,

Wise idea on the mats...wish I would have thought of that at the time. When these get too dirty I'll buy some black ones!

Here are the 6 memory buttons in the US models showing the mode and AM/FM. They work only with nav destinations, phone numbers, and radio/entertainment selections. Simply press and hold a button for > 2 seconds. A cool feature is to lightly brush the buttons, their function is displayed.

Re Logic 7, I put a \_/ curve (more like +5,+2,+1,0,+2,+4,+5) on my EQ and raised the Bass & Treble a bit. I think it sounds good but its a "warmer" tone than older models with L7.

Richard - thanks for clarifying - I'll check them out

You should go back and but the 550 but this time make sure you negotiate that the Bow comes WITH the car...

Good idea...an E60 for every day of the week Hey, we should set a SoCal BMW meet one of these days as I'd like to check out your car and it would be fun to drive different variants of the E60 (responsibly of course)
