My Ride: 2005 545i

Hey all new to the forum! But have been watching from afar for a while!
So here is my issue.
I have the opportunity to buy a 2005 545i sport 6-speed manual no NAV with 97k on it for $9000 + Tax & license.
The car has a clean carfax and autocheck no frame damage there has been some paint work but nothing major.
The car was traded in on a 2008 M5 by some people who had it for 3 years and loved it!
Everything seems great....Right?
I'm going to have a guy look at it tomorrow is there anything the community can think of that i should stress to have him look at?
P.S. So I'm getting this deal because I work for the dealer that took it in on trade. Since we don't get anything in the way of benefits they offered this to me instead.

First of all welcome,,Look into the maintenance history . The two major things on this car is tha alternator bracket gasket and the coolant pipe , See how often the trany fluid has been changed and oil .. A six speed 545 is a bad ass car , if the maintanence has been keeped up ,, I would jump on it . My 545 has 97,000 on it and I love it ... Post some pics .

That's really good price, buy it. but set $2-3k a year to keep it in good shape. Find out also if clutch is good. You probably gonna need to replace clutch soon if it has not. $2k at indy to rep clutch. You gonna love MT

Thanks everyone! I took it home last night and put a few miles on it. I did smell some burning coolant I can't see anything obvious. It does look a little wet on the plastic underside cover under the motor. But its off to inspection by an indy bmw mec i trust. So i'll just have to wait and see if its nothing major.
Thanks again!
BTW I've already taken metal ownership so if the car comes back with a good bill of health I'm an owner!

I imagine you're looking at:
Alternator Bracket Gasket
Both Upper Timing Chain Cover Gaskets
Valve Cover Gaskets
Then you will need a new clutch, and its probably time to swap water pump and thermostat to keep you from being on the side of the road.
So expect $3 to $4k off the bat, unless you can find a BA Indy that will do all that for the cheap. I paid $1821 for it all, save the clutch.

Yeah, while you've got the car pulled apart to this extent, might as well save some labor and do the AGA coolant pipe. Its another $600 in parts + labor.
