I will always buy BMW. Most other cars are pretty boring. Mercedes are definitely fun cars but they lack aggressiveness and are too "soft" around the edges. The only other car manufacturer I would consider would be Porsche.

My Ride: 2004 Mystic Blue Metallic 545I
This is my first BMW, before I had an 06 chrysler 300, 04 crew cab silverado, and a 2000 camaro.
I love this car, nothing i've driven, i like as much. I would definately buy one again.
I can handle a few little problems here and there to have a car like this.

I don't think your experiences are at all common and I don't think that's why they left F1...
To the OP, I am very sorry to learn of your negative experience with BMW. What other problems did you have?
If reliability is your number one factor in buying a car, maybe you should try a Lexus, Infiniti or Honda. Best of luck!

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
The only way I will buy another BMW is if they offer non-RFTs and spare tire on their Xdrive cars. Maybe they should make this an option for those who don't want the "security" of RFTs.

After you drive those cars, sleeping pills are obsolete.

Yes. I would consider buying another BMW. I've bought 7 BMWs so far (2-3s; 3-5s; 2-7s). I am not prepared to say I will ALWAYS buy nothing but BMWs, though.
Other cars appeal to me for various reasons as each has its own strengths and weaknesses and in the end, my choice is chiefly driven by my own subjective analysis.
