Do you have glass coverage on your insurance? I was quoted $1200.00 from Westchester BMW and spoke with my insurance company. They told me that they would only pay $600 pay the additional $600 out of pocket. I negotiated with the insurance adjuster and they gave me an OEM windshield for $700 and they covered the extra $100.

You should try that, the glass only costs BMW about $700, the rest is fluff to rip you off.

 

Yeah it seems there are others aswell with the same unlucky stories. Buddy i really feel you since i pretty much experienced the same horror, when a truck coming the other way, ran over a rock bigger than my fist and as it ran probably exactly on the edges, it projected the rock exactly in my front bumper, heard the big BAM, steped on the brakes, but only to see kinda in slow motion how the rock went in the air, landed on my hood, lucky me it smashed into smaller pices and then hit the windshield only slightly denting it but not doing serious damage. Hood was very badly damaged as one could see the aluminum being scratched and kind ripped off in depth. I was so pissed!
