Hi People,

Yesterday I collected my new 530d touring LCI... but I have one doubt...

It looks like there are two different wooden trims inside, the colour of the upper part and doors doesn't match with the gear and lower part... what do you think? I would like to complain about it...

Luca

I think I would complain, the lower part is browner and upper more redish.

Thank you... I will complain, even because I know that colour very well, it's the same I had before

+1

If it looks that different in a picture, I am sure it is even more obvious in real life. I would definetly complain, especially that it is easily rectified.

Please let me know how it goes. We found the similar case in our Dark Poplar Trim. The upper center piece looks a bit lighter than the door and center counter trims. Could that be a common "issue" for 08 5 series?

Your dealer should replace for you no questions asked. Samething happened on my 330i. I ordered with light silver trim and it came with dark silver trim around the dash and doors but light silver on on the shifter consul. My dealer said no problem bring it back and they'll swap out no charge. I ended up liking the dark silver trim better and just left the shifter one in light for the novelty of it.

I have the same issue with my '08 535i.

I ordered light poplar trim, and there is a definite mismatch between the dash and doors vs. the console. My CA agreed there was a problem with my car, but offered no solution.

This is really not acceptable in a $60,000 car.

I've had several previous cars with real wood trim. This is the only car that did not match.

How would BMW fix the problem? Would they send a completely new wood package for the car, or just replace the console wood? If they just replace the console wood, how would they match the existing wood that is already on the dash and doors? Will it come loose or rattle after the fix?????

Hello Rutto,

At least that pic tells theres's no color mach.

It seems be to that BMW have forgotten all about their wooden lines.

Read my case here.

My mismatch panel pic below.
