It's interesting the type of cars that provoke street racing...thinking that the 5er is big and slow. Every once in a while during my daily commute, I get an Audi 3.2 that likes to pull up behind and flash his brights...turns out the guy works in the same building. We usually trade the lead in traffic, but on clear blacktop I have wasted the Audi...but he still tries; pretty juvenile, but fun...we know who the real winner is here. A few weeks back on my commute home, a Nissan 350z, pulls past me...I notice the pimped out chrome wheels and dark tint. We meet at the next stop light and I pull in behind (one lane), I am behind him on the take off; keep up with mild effort from the 5er, and then he tops off at about 100mph. I flash brights and pass...last look at the speedo was 130mph. I wonder if he noticed he got beat by a big saloon in his 'sports car'. Once again, juvenile, stupid and dangerous...but a rush of adrenaline. Be careful out there and be safe, not all cars are as well balanced performers as Bimmers.

Really? beat a 350 Z with ease? Was it really trying? I "thought" those were just as fast as 545s... I dunno I never really looked up the specs to of them.
But he might out turn us...

I don't think that g8ordoc mentioned he beat the 350Z with ease. The 6speed Z has similar times to the 545i: 0 - 60 = 5.3, 1/4 mile = 13.6. Of course, these times are stock. They are also limited at 156 mph like the 545i. Anyhow, good run g8ordoc!

Vegas-I don't think the Z was looking to increase insurance premiums...but understood that he could be beat...but probably not by a big saloon.

I was provoked by a Scion tC last night. I felt like I had an M5 in my 530
That must have been fun...teeny bopper trying to take on a 5er. Hope that his girlfriend was in the car when you trashed him. One should at least know their limits.
