If i shut my 2006 530xiT off and the wipers happen to be running, they stop in place but when I turn the car on again, they don't park. Instead, I have to turn the wipers on again to get them to park.

Thoughts?

It's probably a good thing. If you find yourself in that position again, you should wash the windshield to get some water between the blades and the glass. If not, you risk scratching the glass due to the dry blades scraping along a gritty or otherwise dirty glass surface.

In addition, if it were wintertime and you parked the car like that, you don't want the wipers to immediately start again later on because the blades could be frozen to the surface and if the motors were to run, the wiper mechanism could be damaged...
