Wiper Chatter
I'm currently banging my head against the wall with regards to wiper blade chatter on my E60. Here's the summary of what I've done/what's happened:
-About 6 months ago, I started getting chatter with the OEM BMW wipers (they were about two years old)
-I replace them with Bosch Aerotwin OEM replacements (24" and 23" correct size wipers) in May
-Almost immediately the new blades also start to chatter.
-Last week, I Rain-X'd the windshield, which did little to nothing for the chatter
-Yesterday, I took the wiper arms apart and played with the various blade angles. I spend two hours monkeying around with these, trying all different angles and I have as much chatter as I did the day before
-Today, I claybar'd the windshield and cleaned the blades with denatured alcohol. Still chattering (perhaps worse).
Am I missing something? Should I just sell the car?
I'd rather not throw $50 at another set of blades if it's not going to solve the problem. When I first got this car, the wipers were some of the best performing wipers I'd ever had in my life. Now the worst! Thanks for any suggestions...

$50!!! WOW. I would not spend that if my life depended on it. I hear a lot of people have the issue you are having. I think it's due to not being the right kind. I spend at most $10 for wipers and never have had an issue the 11 years I've owned my car. Go to rockauto.com. Get the trico neofoam beam style blades in the premium section. They will not disappoint. The best $5 for a pair of blades I have ever spent. I use them on all 4 of my cars and replace them yearly since they are so cheap.

Well the Genuine BMWs are about $50. I think I paid about $30 for the Boschs on Amazon. Because of the E60 wiper arm unique fitment, I wasn't sure what other options we have? Perhaps I'll give the Tricos a try.

Let me know how they work out for you. I get them every time they are on sale. They get as low as $4 a pair. I have never had any issues with them that's why I have stuck with them for so long. I have had issues with the rain X kind on my Accord then I chose to go Trico for all my cars. They are still premium blades for less. I still do not know why the are selling for so cheap. If you find out let me in on the secret

It said they were "private label packaging" and not normal packaging? I used to use Tricos on my Accord with good results (I tried Valeos once and they were awful). I just didn't realize other brands made wipers that fit the E60, with it's special fitment.

These come with I think 3 or 4 different fitments in it. I believe the original on the wipers fit BMW if I'm not mistaken. If not just use one of the others that come in the package.
Also they will come in a normal packaging some say Trico on it some say another company but they are all the same. It will be in the same packaging you get out of a parts store.

Just arrived today in Napa packaging. They came with one fitment that fits the E60. Wipers work amazingly! Just $4/pair! (I ordered two pair)
Sean Jordan I owe you a beer if I'm ever in Tampa.

Two months later and my wipers are back to chattering. Any other tips anyone has? It's almost as if the spring pressure in the wiper arm is too much, especially on the driver's side.
