Forgive me if this thread already exists....but I could not find it. Has anyone had experience with Nankang winter tires? I am about to decide on a wheel package for my 2007 550i with M package; 225/50R17 have been recommended. Any comments would be appreciated.

Never heard of them. I suggest you spend reasonable money on high quality winter tires. No-name tires often have serious shortcomings. I have one year old Michelin X-Ice XI2 tires which got the highest rating from Consumer Reports. I am very happy with them. They are quiet and handle very well. Bridgestone Blizzaks and Dunlops as well as other Michelins are also mentioned often on this forum.
Your size suggestion is good since the narrower 17" tire will carve into the snow better than 18". 17" rims and tires also cost less.
