Hi Guys,
I've ordered a winter setup and now wondering if the rears will fit.
My front 17" winters are 225/50/17 but the rears are 235/55/17.
I have 17 OEM wheels which are 7.5" i think. The car is 525d E60.

Can anyone give me an opinion if these will fit ie they will not affect, suspension, stability, traction ABS etc
The diameter increase is 33mm with these tyres so the car is raised by 17.5mm in the rear.

Your comments will be timely since i can return/cancel them before he ships them.

I have a good deal on these so would really appreciate if someone can reassure me if i can keep them.
Thx
Adam

Use http://www.1010tires...ecalculator.asp for reference.
AFAIK you wanna go less width to cut thru snow for traction so I think 215/55/17 seems to be better.

GL!

Thanks for your reply,

I would have gone for 215 but wanted more stability hence wider tyre.
For snow anything is better than stock summer tyres.

Anyway with particular ref to the 55 profile and increased ride height would this affect the rubbing or suspension probs?
Stock tires 225/50/17 new tyres 235/55/17 with 33mm increase diameter.

Curious too.

Is it possible to put 225/55 R17 on E60 with factory lowered suspension (I guess they lower it by 15mm)? It seems to me that this is the ideal winter tire size on this car - lot of "balloon" but wide enough for enhanced stability. But the owner's manual desn't even note these.

I'm guessing the 225/55/17 will also be 3% out on the speedo mine was showing 5% so i asked him to not dispatch.
I have ordered 205/50/R17 now which are 20mm smaller in diameter and would be better in the rear.
Not sure what I'm doing here but if no-one helps I'm no wiser. The dealership just say stick with 225/50/17..if only i could get some.

Sorry, not a native speaker. What's a "speedo"? How does the calculation work?

Short for speedometer....when you change radius the speedo is affected.
