where can I confirm that for the E60 2005 do not need to buy the TPMS, this would make making the option 2 easier !! Also any recommendations on wheels and tires for Winter tires.

Why do I bother...

Hi ek5abi,

What I would do is to buy some nice 18" winter tires for your 18" wheels,
and get a set of OEM 19" non-RF summers.

It will cost a bit but you'll get a "new better car" for the summer, the 18" RF's are
worse than you imagine.

I'm leaning toward a set of new wheels/tires for the winter. Will most likely go with 17"'s with Dunlop Winter Sport tires. Not sure about the rims. Any suggestions?

Check Dunlop SP M3, Blizzak LM-25, etc. Tirerack can tell you all you need to know. 18" size is 245/40/18, as you should know.
