Just wanted to spread the word around that Tirerack.com now carries the TPMS sensors required for any MY2007 E60. It is still not listed online, but they are available for $67 per side when you call them. I just purchased a set of winter tires/wheels for the 550i and they will come pre-mounted and balanced with the sensors already installed.

Contact cy@tirerack.com for information or call (888) 981-3953 ext. 622 for additional information.

Great news. Did you get 18 or 17 inch wheels?

I believe those are the wheels they spec'ed for me; I was able to use my one-season old 17" Semperits from my old E-39. The JH3s look like the 7-spoke 550 sport wheel but the spokes are bit more slender, baring more of those huge brake discs/calipers.

Sensible package; good luck.

Rudy: Do you have photos of the JH3's on your car? I want to see how they look in "real life".

I don't have any pictures (as far as I can remember) but you might want to see if Lomag has some. Or, check out this thread and use a bit of imagination to see if you can visualize things:

Also, just for fun, I found this thread I started two years ago when many of us were looking for a snow tire/wheel package for the first time:

Thanks Rudy!! They do look a lot like OEM.

I was leaning towards ASA JH3 for the winter but my tire dealer said ASA's are very soft prone to bending. Is there any truth to that? They are trying to sell me replicas (of unknown origin) instead.

When people say a wheel is "soft" and prone to bending, they demonstrate their ignorance of what a properly engineered wheel is supposed to do. When a wheel is tested for TUV & JIL standards, upon impact it is supposed to bend -vs- crack and have a catastrophic failure. They were engineered for your safety not vanity.
