has anyone ever used 19 inch wheels for winter snow tires? Is there any reason you can't or shouldn't?
Thanks

I would say no don't do it. First off 19" winter rubber is very expensive, second I assume your 19" are fairly wide which is a bad thing in the winter. However if you live somewhere where there is little snow and just want something for the cold pavement then you will probably be ok with a 19" winter setup.

I live just outside Philadelphia, snow is hit or miss. If I went with 19's the tire size I would shot for would be 255/35/19. I ran 255/40/18 on my Audi with no problem but wasnt sure about using 19's

I think Carlton is using 19" snow tires look up member "C's Bimmer" I would probably go for a whole 18" winter set up, as it would be easier to swap every year, plus it'd be like having a new set of rims a few months out of the year

I went from 17 to 18 to 19 for my winter setup over the years.
Conditions here aren't that bad as other places, although we did get our fair share of moderate snow in January, so I'm really enjoying the way the car looks (and performs) throughout the whole year and haven't noticed any adverse effects going with 19
