My Ride: 2011 550i AW - every option
Not sure if anyone on the forum stores their E60 in the winter, but do I need to do anything out of the ordinary for this car?
Would you recommend me putting it up on jackstands like I do for the Mustang? My front struts are shot anyway, but I can still do it.
Should I d/c the battery, or just fire it up on a regular basis? I'm weary on disconnecting anything on this car.
Any input is always appreciated.

Maybe you should let it migrate to warmer climates for the winter...
Seriously though, I would also hesitate in disconnecting the battery. I've heard too many scary tales of people's iDrive, etc, etc, going haywire after tampering with the battery.

I'm storing mine from Mid-December until April and had the same questions. I will have mine on a "Smart" charger and I'll start it up now and then. Other than that, a car cover and that's about it.

i will also be storing my E60 from the end of November to April or May. the only thing im going to do is start it up about once a week. im going to store it with 1/4 tank of gas also. you do want alot of gas to just sit for a while.
Do any of you guys use car covers? i think im going to have to buy one. we have a stove in our garage and my mom does a lot of baking and frying. thats the last thing i need is my car to be cover with oil and other stuff.

I would put in a bottle of Gas treatment to keep the Gas fresh throughout the storage period.
The last thing you want is to push old gas through the engine after it's been sitting for 4 months.

yeah I definitley got some "stabilize" for the tank. I need to get a good cover myself. Any reco's?
MI winters really kick in around January as far as precipitation goes, but I dont mind giving her some rest on the mileage early.
per the mom and cooking - dude im indian, i feel you on that. our food might taste good, but not when its being cooked - thats for sure.
it also gets oil and crap all over anything in the surrounding area haha
