Otherwise, you are out of luck if it can't be repaired inexpensively. At least that is the way it would be with my insurance company. Why did Safelite say your chip can't be repaired? Maybe you should check with another company. I have a small chip. I am used to it. You'll probably adjust to yours unless it is a vision problem.

It is not a vision problem. It is only noticeable when the windshield is perfectly clean. But it is an annoying imperfection on a 1 week old car. According to the SafeLite guy it did not even get to the glass itself. I asked him if he can make it disappear and he said "no". I will try a couple of other places but they all probably use the same technology.
