My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

My windshield washer jets are not spraying. I don't think they are clogged as it is the same on both sides (all 4 orifices). The first spray is about a 1/4 way up the windshield and goes down from there. I would be surprised if the pump was giving out, but that is my first thought.

I have not really looked into it, but figured someone may have some advice.

I do have fluid.

Has anyone had a problem with the pump? Does it have any filter element?

Yes, I do. Exact same problem. Dealer replaced the pump under warranty.

How do you direct the windshield fluid nozzles? Mine tend to go all over the place?? Is there any particular technique to re-aiming the nozzles???

It could be the strainer grommit, but do you hear the pump working when you hit the switch? If you do, then that might be your problem. I had the dealer replace the strainer grommit which was clogged up. Hope this helps & good luck

I cured the same problem (everything working but just a dribble from the jets). Disconnect the hose at a common point and blow air down to the water tank. I used a foot pump by hand. After a bit of gurgling It was fixed.

As for the other post re: adjustments. If your jets are like mine they are fixed slits which spray across the screen. There is no adjustment.

Hope this works for you!

Thats a good possibility - do you know where the strainer grommet is?
