creaking like we all had with the side door seal or high pitch squeak at higher speeds?
Yea, not a rattle, but creaking, I dont think its the door seals because I drove over bumps with my door open and it still creaked.

I had this on my September build 550. Noticed it from day one. The dealer replaced the windshield for me and that fixed it!
Mine was more of a rattle (not a creaking) coming from the entire base of the windshield. Really noticed it if you hit a bump with just one side of the car like man hole covers or small potholes but any bump would rattle it.

I know exactly what you are taking about. I am having the same problem. I believe it is actually the A pillar material slightly rubbing against the windshield. I have tried wedging a piece of fabric between the two and the squeaking stopped. I have not come up with a better solution. Hopefully someone here will have an idea or two.

Well today it was 50 degrees F and I didnt have one single sound over any kind of bump!!! I also used to have a rattle from the rear deck (I thought at least) I guess the rear rattle was from the rear window also. It must have something to do with the temp. I will wait until it gets cold again and take it to the dealer to have them replace windshield and back window. Must have something to do with the glue or seals around the glass. Anyway I am happy that its noise free for now. Sounds like all of my previous BMWs SOLID.

interesting...mayeb this is where my rattle is coming from
pop the hood and take a look at the plastic that covers the glass...it's a creakign nightmare...thats where i really think all the noise is coming from... When i press firmly, it makes a loud creakign sound that might be makign its way into the interior...since its coming from the spot near the a pilliar where all the noise comes from...
taking it up with the dealer after the noreaster this week...

I cannot think of anything more annoying than a rattle or creak but I've had a few car's now all luckily for me brand new car's ranging from Fords right up to my latest 535D and I've come to the conclusion that all car's no matter how cheap or expensive will develop some sort of rattle or creak during it's lifetime I think it virtually unavoidable,I normally get used to them and forget about them but I think the best cure is? your favorite tunes cranked up to the max you won't notice a thing.
