Fellow Bimmers,
Anyone else have the problem where the side window trims have a haze/blue-ing effect?
I just got my car and the "salesman" told me that its a common problem with those and nothing can be done to remove that.
After looking at it for a month and almost resigned to the fact I had to get replacements, I figured I'd try white vinegar diluted to 70:30 with water. ( v : w )
Took a toothbrush to the areas and scrubbed thoroughly. Wiped off the wet and reapplied until it's practically gone. It doesn't look brand new but the haze and watermarks are gone. YES !!![Dance](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/dance.gif)
Next step will be a three step waxing process if to get a fine scruff and shine and hopefully have any water or other contaminants repel.
If anyone can provide comments or feedback to this, I'd really appreciate it as I'm not a detail guy per say.
Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
(Any changes to the result I'll update.)
Thanks!

Can't be done! NOT TRUE. Apply meguier's Ultimate Wax to all black surfaces on the car and they will all look new and BLACK. Read the directions on the package to verify the use.
When I say all black surfaces, I mean wiper arms all black rubber on the roof, around windows and the side panels verticals. Also, it is fantastic on BMW paint. Wax the whole car including all the above surfaces with no fear. You will break your face with a big grin.

Yeah that salesman lied to you, just like all car salesman do, they don't care about you, except that you complete the sale. Invest in a bottle of 3m clear coat polishing compound. You can use it anywhere on your car to remove spots etc and if you have an electric polisher its even better. You can use the 3m polish for your window trim but I would not sand it. Sounds like it might have oxidized a little, probably from sitting out in the direct sun for a long time and not being properly cared for.
