I was trying to shut my driver side window and it wouldn't go up with the one touch feature...so then i manually held the switch up....and the trap window warning came up....what the hell is it?

I had my driver window fixed because it would roll up and then go back down, because it thought it had hit an obstruction or something. They replaced the controller and re-initialized the window.

1 week later I got the same warning that you describe in my I-Drive and it disabled the one touch feature.

I will call my service rep. on monday and will have to bring it back in.

How does the anti-trap window work?? I tried using the one touch close and putting my hand in between the glass and it didnt stop!

Then I tried holding down the window to see if it stops but it didnt!!!! I was using a lot of pressure too and I heard the motor strain but it was still closing and was going to cut my hand off!!!

I had the exact same problem on my driver window. My service guys replaced the seal around the window and it has fixed the problem.

I had same problem with front passenger window--they replaced the window drive. Now my drivers window is acting up...

This is my worst E60 "bug". I have problems at multiple windows at varying times. I drove a loaner before and it had the same problem - which the dealer blamed on window tint. I do not have tint.

To whomever it was that the motor didn't stop with pressure - that should be fixed soon - that should never happen.

I expect we might see a recall on this as it is a very common and potentially dangerous problem - and certainly annoying.

i've had mine since Dec 03 and just encountered the problem last week. having read the manual and messing with the switch, i got it to reset. of course at first, i didn't know what it was about. the fault was at the left rear passenger side.

haha...maybe we should as the customers of NA BMW call our own recalls in ....seems like a common problem....Ive tried the Anti trap feature...seems to want to work when it feels like it....some times a slight bit of pressure will force the window back...although at other times it takes more than enough pressure...weird...

I had 17.1 installed this week and one of the issues I had reported was the bogus anti-trap warning. According to my SA and also the repair sheet I got from the dealer the issue is fixed by the software upgrade - "Update software will fix the glitch"

I'm having this same problem. Started a few days after tinting the windows. I assumed this was the problem. Recently upgraded to 16.1. Only effecting driver's window.
