Something very odd has happened - all of a sudden after a year of driving my car every time I unlock the car doors the driver side window rolls down. Any one have any idea how to fix it and what is going on?

Have you tried your other key??
As the car is designed to roll down windows in US with an EXTENDED press on unlock key. Wonder if your issue is on car side or key side. Using second key could help nail that part down. |
I think you just need to not hold the button down...

Dave was right. In US you can roll down the window by holding the unlock button. However, lawyer banned roll up function in US.

I assume if you have been unlocking your car for over 1yr, that you are not all of the sudden holding the button down longer. However, maybe it has some dirt/lint in the key causing the button to stick. A good suggestion was to try the other key. I the other key isn't doing it, then it could be the dirt/lint problem or a problem with the fob electronics. If the other key does it as well, then it could be a problem with the body computer.

Well - a few things
1. It wasnt rolling down all windows just the driver side. When I hold down the unlock on the key it rolls down all the windows - front first, then rear w/ a sligth delay, and then finally when all windows are down opens the sun roof. 2. I don't know if this changed something, or fixed something, or what but when I turned off the child window lock it stopped doing it? odd I know. I havent tested but I wonder if that keeps the other windows from rolling down and it was just getting stuck. I also changed keys, and then changed keys back. 3. I can't find the section in the i-drive saying if you want settings key specific or not???? where did it go, I saw it before. |
