Wind deflector snagging on sunroof
So I opened my sunroof for the first time in a really long time today and when I went to close it I had the hardest time. The anti-trap kept on triggering and pushing the glass back. Later I come to find out that the middle top part of the wind deflector tags the glass as it slides closed which is what is causing the anti-trap to bring it back, I have to close my sunroof in slow increments for it to fully close. I inspected the deflector and there's no screws or anything to adjust it. So is there any way of fixing that so it doesn't snag?

This is a common fault It will also cause a clanging noise to many when they drive as the plastic hits the sunroof glass it can easily be bent back though i put a little bit of wood wedged under each end of the plastic and then i heat the plastic up with a hot air gun or hair dryer Then you simply push gently down on the center of the plastic till it cools I have fixed a few sunroofs like this and they have had no trouble since |
What part are you bending exactly? Because if I remember correctly, my wind deflector I think is metal (or aluminum)?

you can easily bend that black plastic wind reflector On one car I simply bent it with my hands with no heating and it worked fine Just put your sunroof all the way back and the black windshield pops up Then grab it and bend it with your thunbs while the rest of your hand supports the outside or do as I have done with a few blocks and heated and bend but both will work it is easy to do give it a go and let us know how you went |
Here is another post having the same problem

Will give that a try and see how it goes. Need to change the seal on it too anyways.
