just wanted to know if it was possible to put the steptronic shifter from the new 07 08 550i into the 2004 545i? is it a simple pull off the stock shifter and pop on the new 08 shifter? or do i need the wiring harness from fred like if i was doing an smg shifter? thanks

 

from what I know , it is NOT possible. There are people here who wanted to do it or tried to do it. Do a search by LCI SHIFTER or something in the google tab.....

 

the new shifter, which is silver and a completely different shift plate and shifting parts below the shift plate. this is not possible. Fred's wiring kit only works with the older version of steptronic like in your 04 545. unless Fred has introduced a new mod?
