Why the heck do you need anything fancy to get Internet in your car? My Verizon mobile handset provides tethering to the Verizon EVDO broadband network. My GPS tethers via Bluetooth and grabs realtime traffic, weather, etc... through the phone in my pocket. I could just as easily pop open the laptop and start browsing on the same connection.
For that matter, there's an iPhone app that turns it into a wireless AP. Would do the same thing as these products. So would the Blackjack 3. (it has WiFi) and the Blackberry Curve 8320 (WiFi).
That Autonet is some first-rate fleecing in action.
BTW - there is a little-known loophole for getting a cheap data plan with AT&T. Get a pre-paid SIM. You can enable data (unlimited) for $20 introductory rate for the first month. Next month, get a new one. If you use it in a broadband card, it won't matter that the number changes, etc...
