My Ride: 2007 550i. Sapphire Black Metallic/Auburn Leather/Anthracite trim. Sport/Comfort Access/Navigation/Satellite/HD Radio/HUD/Premium Sound/M Aero Kit/with 50% tint sides & rear. 19" Style 166s.
Okay at first this wasn't funny. But later I laughed.
Keep in mind my new 550 still has the dealer temporary license on it. I kept her in the garage all day because of the rain storms in the area and I needed it clean for an appointment with a client later.
I had just got my new tires to go on my M5 wheels mounted. I had just put them on the car when my wife comes home. Being the proud (and brave) dad, I say "take it around the block to see how they feel, while I clean up the garage."
My wife agrees and took off. Keep in mind I'm watching her all the time to insure she doesn't scrape the front end going out of the driveway.
Well, she comes back about ten minutes later with a smile on her face. My car was filthy! It looked like she had went down a muddy road or something.
She had went to a nearby neighborhood where they are going to build homes. They have already paved the straight and winding streets, but no construction yet. She absolutely turned the car loose and went at it like a F1 course!
She said the harder she pushed it, the better it behaved. She had never went through turns hard like that before and nailing it on the straight aways.
Well needless to say, even though the car was a dirty mess, I couldn't be mad considering she "drove it like she stole it". It's good for the car and besides I guess a little mud won't hurt it.
I can just hear my new car saying "Daddy, why don't we have fun like that?" I guess it's like a horse that's meant to be ridden hard. Bring 'er home wet!!

awesome car&story. Do not get worried you buy a metalic black that is nothing see my JET sometimes, and you can only wash it carefully w hand and wax etc take min 1-2,5 hrs. Be proud of your wife that she came back w Her in one piece and lock the keys away!!!

My Ride: 525i SE Black Saphire, Black Dakota Leather, 116 type alloys
Great story and great colour combo. Had similar colour leather trim in my old e39 and it stood out from the crowd. Unfortunately my new (second hand) e60 came with black leather trim, which is fine but I still miss the individuality of the old combo.
