IMO thats no different than people adding the M front and rear bumpers, quad exhausts, however, it doesn't bother me.

But, If I ever saw a non M car with a M5 badge, I'm not going to go out of my way to take a picture and post it on a forum to make fun of some random person either.
disagree. the M parts WILL make your car look better. that is the reason for doing it.

the M badge SERVES NO PURPOSE. it is strictly there to make people believe you have something that it is not.

The average owner won't know the difference, methinks.

If you go all out, quad exhast, bumpers, fenders then I would not have said anything because you are making the whole car look good however if your going to just add he badge I think its cheesy,

Anyways if the person is on this board I apologize.

Here we go again.....

Has anyone ever thought of the feac that folks may just like the ///M logo? I know I do? I don't have it on the car - but I love the way it looks and don't see why I wouldn't put it on. Remember tho - this is the ///M not the ///M5 logo.... I see where the ///M5 group is going, can't say that I agree, but I think there's a visual appeal to the M that folks just want. Isn't that why some 528 or 535 owners debadge??? So you just don't know what you have underneath?>?

1. I didn't get the M package cause it doesn't come with staggered wheel set up. To me the actual handling aspects is more important than looks in a sports oriented car.

2. I never asserted anyone to be a poser for doing anything to their cars. IMO what they do to their cars badging, aero kits, exhaust is their business and I have no right to ridicule them for what they percieve to be in good taste. Everyone is different and has different opinion.

3. If a 5 series has the body kit that looks very similar to a M5 appearance wise, then people even myself from a distance will and can confuse it for a M5, there is no doubt about that. Am I saying they are posers for having their 5 series look like a M5? No, again I don't really care cause people like to personalize their cars as they see fit.

4. The M package also has the ///M emblem scattered all in the interior as well.. Just because BMW did it and not the owner doesn't matter. If some dude stuck a ///M emblem ( NOT A M5 emblem) on his trunk is that posing?? My answer is no.

All of the above is my opinion and I am not forcing these opinions down anyone throat. Take them for what they are worth..

Everything in life should be debadged.

1: for those that have debated this in the past, i believe that the actual handling aspects of a staggered wheel set up actually UNDERMINE the handling of the car by increasing understeer. i believe someone on this post will back me up but staggered sets are actually a cop out for people who dont really know how to handle their automobile. so maybe you did it for the looks???
2: you posted a snide comment comparing those who get the package to be just like the car in the picture.. thats passive aggresive bro and you know it
3: of course the m-sport body kit makes the car look more like an M5.. its called m sport for a reason. again, another passive aggresive comment.

your opinions are duly noted. congrats on saving the 1500 bux

Could be. I got the same set up on my Msport 535d. I would like to say I am a poser but the actual fact is this. I just pefered the car with the Mbodykit, 19" wheels, black headliner and boot spoiler because it made the car look so much better than stock. Like in the Pixar short film Toyko mater... its all about MODIFYYYYYYYY!. Stock is the the worst thing to be seen in. Incase anyone hasn't seem the clip, here is the link. Watch and laugh for the 6 mins of it. [

Remember... Modifyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

Yes and no. For me when I debadged it was both. yes I didn't like to advertise it was a DIESEL!! And NO because I do think the car looks better without. All my cars have always been debadges with the exception when its "M" or "GTi". THose then to stay on until some low life takes them out for me.

Also I know of someone who had the top of the range car (very powerful) then debadges it and later puts on the lowest cc diesel badge. It fooled many and gave us tons of laughs.

cheers
