Why are there so many E60's in Cali?
I drive a lot, I do. What I notice is lots of Bimmers around here, but not a lot of E60's. My car is straight-up UNIQUE around here in Barrington, IL. / Chicago area. I see tons of 3 series, lots of X3's and X5's, even lots of 7 series, but NOT A LOT of 5ers. Whats the deal? Seems like everyone in California has a 5 considering way over 50% of the people on this board are from CA, (I think).
So whats the deal!?!?

I couldn't tell you, because I'm from California!!
Maybe because we spend on premium unleaded instead of heating oil :-) :-) ..
When I went back and forth to the Tribune for years and then out to Milwaukee, the mixture of popular car types does change a lot - doesn't it.... :-) :-)

Haha, there are more German cars in a 5 mile radius around my house than I could see in a week IN Germany. At least speaking for Berlin, people drive a lot of 'other' brands. At first I thought to myself, "These people are sick, so insecure that they HAVE to have a BMW." Then I bought one and now I realize they just like driving excellence.

I see quite a few around here (western suburbs) - but the older A6s and GSs were more popular. Still they are anything but rare around here (and yet, no where near as popular as Calif)
people make more money in socal. we also don't have crappy weather like snow so no salt to ruin our under carriage and pot holes to jack up our wheels. i know other states have different tax rates for cars which can also deter someone from buying a bmw. just my thoughts.

When some is into a brand, one sees it. (Don't remember the study, but you see what you want...)
There's a lot of E60's all around. It's about the most common taxi overhere.
Old model, it's been around now fore some six years now - and everyone wants it,
even those who cannot afford it.
So what? The Lexus, Acura etc other Chinese cars or not that hot in EU.
