Why so much ambiguity and uncertainty with LCI upgrade?!?

Hi All,
A quick question: Wherever I look around, esp in the DIY section- there is a lot of ambiguity in the whole tail lamp upgrade procedure from non-LCI to LCI. There doesnt seem to be a one-stop, easy solution for this. As in- is there a place where I could simply go (pref in the NY,NJ, PA area) and purchase the lamps with control unit, pref a plug-n-play system and do an easy install? There are several talks about failures such as flickering lamps at times due to control unit, etc. Where would you guide / suggest me?

If you're only interested in LCI taillight upgrade, then this is most straight forward way to go about it. A group buy is in progress as we speak.
