Just was reviewing the 2006 pricing sheet and see that the Satelite Radio preperation charge was removed for all the 2006 e60's except for the 545 - they are still charging $75 for it???
I'm paying $1,000's more and their not giving it to me?? I realize that the 545 is still an "'05" but their being made alongside the otehr models!! and my car's not being made until late April.
BMW - what's the thinking there??

I think its like the nav dilemma I have on my 05. You either get nav factory installed, or you dont get it at all - no retrofit available in US. In the 06 models, either you get sat installed at the factory, or you never get it at all - no planned retrofit. That's just my speculation.

Here's my speculation(s):
1) It's a typo.
2) They haven't changed the wiring harnesses yet for the 8-cylinder cars. It's possible that when they retooled for the new 6-cylinder engines, they decided to included the Sirius prep wiring in all harnesses and they'll more than likely do they same for the 8-cylinder cars once they begin production.
That doesn't explain why they don't just include it as a no charge option or include it automatically for all US bound 8-cylinder cars...

If you go to bmw usa website you will find that if you order the satellite radio the prep is included. I know because i have a 2005 545i with sat. radio.

I'm not interested in ordering Satelite radio out of the shoot but BMW gives you the option of ordering "Sat. Prep." for the future potential of adding of a radio capable of receiving the signals.
Yes, I realize you get the "prep" when you order the radio option out of the gate but I am not sold on my need yet for the service but I like the option that I could get it in the future by my car being pre-wired for it at production.
Just give me the damn pre. for nothing like your giving the 525 & 530 buyers!!!
