There is a nasty damp basement odour coming from inside.. I know I read something about it here, but can't remember or recover.
Was there a solution? Or a cause? Thanks - edit: that would be airconditioning, althought the absence of the C is kindof apropriate, as it most definitely does not smell like the C (sorry :shifty: ) - |
It has to do with some bacterias in the airconditioning system. It has been reported before and can be solved by the dealer when they clean the system for you.
on the other hand... Maybe you can try to take a shower once a day and wash your feet.. once a week can cause some serious smells too... :D |

Wow... Are you trying to start a new "foglight-style" discussion here ?   Have your dealer clean and desinfect the A/C system. BMW suggests that this should be done once a year! |
When I smell strange things I always take a shower for starters.. :D :D If you don't take a shower for a long time people need foglights to find their way to ya... :D :D
Yes, it's fridaynight again  |

Listen here you foklight! It is not me who lives in the middle of a field, where the local sherif still rides by on a pig every other day! We actually have plumbing, and a sewage system. (they say we are getting television soon too) :D :D |
Mmmhhh.. I'm still in the following situation:
Plukkie al??????? alleeeeeen blaahaaaaad........ Sorry guys.. west dutch joke! |
if you cannot get the dealer to do it for free buy some of this from your local auto factors, read the instructions. works well, kills all the bacteria etc etc
|
I guess I will need some explanation with that one, over more than e few beers..
;) But seriously, I have never had an airconditioning unit cleaned before, or had one that stank. How can this happen? Design fault of some sort? |
Fred, I'll try to post the service bulletin on the subject later tonight...
|
Aha, this shows you're not a true westlander. I've been in roses, sterrenkersen, anjers and potplanten.. I've destroyed my back in that business..
anyway.. I think it is way to early for your car to stink already.. I've had it to in the past and my dealer blamed it for using the airconditioning to little.. Nowadays I always have it on so I hope I won't get this issue like you do. |
