Cheap cars have the following:
*Like floor mats that snap or hook into the car
*Compass rearview mirror (standard)

Not sure what your point is -- are you saying our cars should have these features?

In the case of the floor mats, mine have velcro discs underneath that hold them in place perfectly. As far as the compass on the mirror, I find them annoying when I drive loaner E9x cars that have them...

Your mats must be different, cause '06 does not have anything that holds the driver's in place. As for the compass, well, it was just a throw in. There are other things, mainly a nice arm storage are rather than the BS they put in my car that I have to break to take out (phone cradle thing). Car phones went out of style in the 90s...

Other than that, I LOVE IT!!!!!

My 2004 car had the velcro discs too. (Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure my two E39 cars had something similar as well...)

The storage compartment that you removed isn't really a phone cradle (unless you had the eject box), it's just a smaller, "sub-compartment" that I find very handy. I keep some stuff in the small compartment and some stuff in the large compartment. I never place my phone in either one...

You have convinced me, I love it all...hahaha Listen, I could do without the cup holders and take some nice cigarette plugs that are not cheap little plastic caps covering the two power plugs facing the rear seats...Pepsi caps on 16oz bottles are better quality. I have a $71k car (when it was new) and it just doesn't scream quality everywhere. Maybe the '08/'09 is better?

Glad I could help you out!

I have one question about the car's abilty to "scream quality"... Have you ever driven it?

I'm really not worried about the cup holders or rear power plug covers -- if you want actual lighters in there, you can certainly get a couple. If not, maybe just paint a couple of Pepsi caps black and shove them in there. (Come to think of it, I've never even been in my back seat...what covers are you actually talking about? )

Thats weird....because my '06 has the velcro discs for the carpet mats, and the hooks that lock into the floor for the rubber mats

Maybe his mats have the velcro but the plastic discs aren't installed in his car?

I'm gonna look tomorrow...Inany case, the mat is always riding up on the gas pedal and the back mats have the foam underneath, but they move from the kids gettin' in and out...
