Yea after all of the reading I did on the idrive from editors I was alittle concerned about it messing up, but now that I have it I LOVE it im so happy that I decided on an E60 and found you guys. Ive learned alot on these boards the few weeks that I have been here and had my car.

Totally agree with Iceman. Who cares about other people who bash our cars. My 2006 530xi is coming in July. My other car Cayenne S got bashed all the time on the various Porsche boards. Again, who cares. As long as I am happy, that's everything that counts. Happy Motoring!

I have to admit that when I read somthing negitive about our beloved E60 I get defensive. But the more I drive this car the more I love it, this car is just fantastic.

To be truthfull I did not love its looks when it first came out, but it grew on me. But the way this car drives is amazing. I don't know why people bash our cars; I'll say this if an enthusiast spent some time behind the wheel of an E60 not just a test drive, he too would walk around will a ridiculous grin on his face.

I am the former owner of a 2003 745 and I got rid of it after ownly 6 months of ownership. At the time, there was plenty to hate about it which I understand, is finally being made better by BMW. The point is that ultimately, BMW wants to sell us their wares and they DO listen and DO react, albeit slowly, to what we, their customers want.

I am now on my 10TH BMW since 1984. ( During that period, have also owned 4 Cadillacs, 2 E Class, and 1 SL500. )

I keep coming back to BMW which, despite some initial maladies, beats the hell out of its competition, IMO.

My wife and I are seniors and for a while we have been considering that the time will soon come that we can share one car that satisfies both our needs. She now has an A6 Wagon.

Now that there is a 530 wagon available with 4 wheel drive, there is no need to consider any alternative for us.

In about 2007 we will buy one and maybe a few more like it before we drive off into the sunset.

And proudly too !

I would think because its radical in looks, concepts, and manufacturing.

A radical looking machine made of steel and aluminum put together with blue glue with systems managed by a computer that requires "updates." All we need is a Houston based system control station and we'd be set.

Other than that, I'd say jealously.

i've never heard of anyone telling me my car or any e60 on the street is ugly . but i've read some articles mention about how bad it looks . people saying that are more conservative and coincidently they all like the e-class better . do i need to say more ?

btw, if someone telling you your e60 is fugly, just tell them, "oh, i'm sorry. but i don't have money to buy something nicer."

The new E-Class... now there is one butt-ugly car. OK from the sides, but from behind it looks like a Kia. Previous E-class was a beaut, in my opinion... nice and substantial looking, like a $60k car should be.

i think that's a little too harsh but not too far from your opinion, though . imho, i don't think the e is ugly but i personally think it's dated extremely quick . it looks like time for a new body style already .
