Why do MUSTANG drivers go CRAZY when they see a 5-series?

Lots of stereotypes getting reinforced in this thread...
The reality, as at least one poster has correctly pointed out, is that a recent vintage Mustang V8 GT and above will outperform - and not just in a straight line - most if not all current E60s and F10s. Take this up to the Shelby/GT550 level and the gap is even wider.
There are many reasons why we choose BMWs and other higher-end cars over the lower cost alternatives, but from a performance perspective and most certainly from a relative value for money perspective the Mustang has most of you beat...

We don't get many Mustangs here. But it would appear that Audi 4 pot drivers think they are in one! Sorry, just had to add to the stereotype catalogue we have created!

Does this include the almighty M5?
No worries, pure speed and acceleration is what I keep the gixxer for.

Funny how the Mustang owners suddenly drive like little old ladies when they pull up next to me on the two-wheeler. (Sorry to insult the little old ladies out there.)

As for the M5, the higher end Mustangs are very tough to beat from a dig, can take corner and run barely half the cost of an M5 when new. With some of them pushing 550bhp and carrying less weight, the Mustang certainly wouldn't be disgraced. Either way, I'm just not sure that the premise of the thread exists other than in your mind.
No... I suspect I'm on to something.. these guys go nuts when I'm in the cage (4-wheeler) but I've never seen one so much as rev their engine when I'm cruising the bike.
Besides, comparatively speaking, they do have a much bigger engine (the bike is only a 4-banger). Where is all the vrooom vrooom and aggressive left to right steering action (presumably used) to get attention? Could it be that wonderful, faint aroma of racing fuel coming from my exhaust?
(Not that I need it- it's just fun).
Anyways, when I'm on the streets I always see plenty of these Mustang drivers, so I'm sure the sample size is sufficient.
Isn't it interesting?
That was the purpose of my original post.

It most certainly includes your car. I say that as a former 550 Sport owner myself. It's not a particularly quick car.
